A glorious antique Georgian lavaliere necklace featuring a large, silver pendant suspended from two chains. It has a fabulous, open-work design with floral metalwork decorated with twinkling white paste stones and five larger cushion and round cut pastes with a subtle golden hue.
Paste is a heavy, transparent flint glass used since ancient times to simulate the beauty of gemstones. The art of cutting paste takes expert craftsmanship and the highest quality stones are often able to replicate the cut, colour and sparkle of natural gems to near perfection.
The pendant is modelled in solid silver and attached to a long silver cable chain with a hook clasp. It’s a striking statement piece and in excellent condition.
